A True GoodHeartz

Adversity doesn't build character... it reveals it.

True GoodHeartz walk in when everyone else walks out.

Kudos to all who have sticked around! =D

Just for Laughs~

1st joke :

Mother : Boy, go down to the store and help me to buy a bottle of soy sauce. Remember to half the price of whatever the store owner offers!

Boy : Yes, Mother!

(At the store)

Boy : I want a bottle of soy sauce. How much is it?

Owner : $4

Boy : *thinks for awhile* No, $2!

Owner : Alright, $3 then.

Boy : *ponders again, and shakes his head* No no no, $1.50!

Owner : Last price, $2.

Boy : *... shakes his head* Cannot, $1!

Owner : *got angry* Why don't I give you 1 bottle for free? (F5)

Boy : *thought about it, and shakes his head* No! You must give me 2 bottles free!

2nd joke :

Qn : A wolf brought 10 sheep onto the MRT train. After 5 stops, the wolf alighted.
How many sheep are there left?

Ans : 10, because no eating and drinking is allowed on the MRT train!

3rd joke :

Qn : You are participating in a race and after much effort, you finally overtook the 2nd runner.
Which position are you in now?

Ans : If your answer is the 1st position, you are wrong!
Since you overtook the 2nd runner, you took over his position at the 2nd position!

4th joke :

(Do not use too much time, be quick!)
Qn : You are still a race. You overtook the last person, which position are you in now?

Ans : If your answer is the 2nd last position, you are wrong again!
How can you overtake the last person? Since he's already the LAST person, how can you be behind him? Hahahahaha~

Have a good laugh! XD

A Meaningful Life

It is possible to have a great life when we live a meaningful life. And we can live a meaningful life only when we do meaningful work.

For no matter what we achieve, if we don't spend the vast majority of our time with people we love and respect, we cannot possibly have a great life. But if we spend the vast majority of our time with people we love and respect - people we really enjoy being on the bus with and who will never disappoint us - then we will almost certainly have a great life, no matter where the bus goes. The people we interviewed from the good-to-great companies clearly loved what they did, largely because they loved who they did it with.

Happy Father's Day

"To support mother and father, to cherish wife and child and
to have a simple livelihood; this is the good luck." ~ Buddha

树欲静而风不止,子欲养而亲不在

"I also believe that parents, if they love you, will hold you up safely, above their swirling waters, and sometimes that means you'll never know what they endured, and you may treat them unkindly, in a way you otherwise wouldn't."

Dad's Love

"Love like rain, can nourish from above, drenching couples with soaking joy. But sometimes, under the angry heat of life, love dries on the surface and must nourish from below, tending to its roots, keeping itself alive."

Choices

Whatever comes our way, whatever battles we have raging inside us, we always have a choice. My guild master and mistresses taught me that. They chose to be the best of themselves. It's the choices that make us who we are, and we can choose to do what's right.

Happy Mother's Day

《游子吟》

慈 母 手 中 线,游 子 身 上 衣。
临 行 密 密 缝,意 恐 迟 迟 归。
谁 言 寸 草 心,报 得 三 春 晖。

~ 孟郊 (751-814),唐代诗人

Most of all the other beautiful things in life
come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds.
Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows,
brothers and sisters, aunts and cousins, comrades and friends -
but only one mother in the whole world.

Let me be

Let me know when I make you proud.
And help me to have pride in my accomplishments.

Let me earn your trust. Then trust me.
I won't let you down.

Let me try my wings. If I fail, let me know it's okay.
And encourage me to try again.

Let me know you love me. With a hug. Or a pat on the back.
Or, when i need it,
With a firm but gentle 'no.'

Let me be. Let me change. Let me grow.

Let me tell you when I'm feeling bad. Or angry. Even at you.
And let me know that even on my worst days, you still like me.

Let me dream. Share my joy when my dreams come true.
Share my tears when they don't.

Let me feel secure in my home. Help me realize that love is always there;
that I can depend on you no matter what.

Let me run... let me laugh... let me play.

And most of all, let me be a child of GoodHeartz.

A True GoodHeartz

A true Master is not the one with the most students,
but one who creates the most Masters.

A true leader is not the one with the most followers,
but the one who creates the most leaders.

A true king is not the one with the most subjects,
but one who leads the most to royalty.

A true teacher is not the one with the most knowledge,
but one who causes the most others to have knowledge.

A true GoodHeartz is not the one with the kindest heartz,
but one who causes the most others to have a good heartz.

Also, a true Goodheartz is not the one who is the most active online,
but one who has a good heartz wherever he/she may be, in whatever he/she may be doing. (Mr Mina, 2010)

Kids

I look in the mirror through the eyes of the child that was me. ~ Judy Collins

The child within each of us is fragile, but very much alive, and she interprets our experiences before we are even conscious of them. It is our child who may fear new places, unfamiliar people, strange situations. Our child needs nurturing, the kind she may not have received in the past. We can take her hand, coax her along, let her know she won't be abandoned. No new place, unfamiliar person, or strange situation need overwhelm her.

It's quite amazing the strength that comes to us when we nurture ourselves, when we acknowledge the scared child within and hold her, making her secure. We face nothing alone. Together, we can face anything.

I will take care of my child today and won't abandon her to face, alone, any of the experiences the day may bring.

Recipe

It's that time of year when we call to mind a dozen new months. Here's a good recipe for them:

Prepare one day at a time, and into each put 12 parts of faith, 11 of patience, 10 of courage, 9 of work/study, 8 of hope, 7 of fidelity, 6 of open-mindedness, 5 of kindness, 4 of rest, 3 of prayer, 2 of meditation, and 1 of well-selected resolution.

My cookery book tells me: add a teaspoonful of good spirits, a dash of fun, a pinch of folly, a sprinkling of play and a heaped cupful of good humour.

Next, pour love generously into the whole, cook thoroughly, garnish with a few smiles and a sprig of joy; then serve with quietness, unselfishness, and cheerfulness.

Now, isn't that a good recipe for a new year?
